I am in the process of introducing kanban-circuits for a certain product line of ours. The Product Structures contain some parts with serial tracking “At Receipt and Issue”.
If we want to satisfy the serial tracking, we need to scan the parts somewhere in the process.
If that happens in the assembly line, we can use kanban-circuits but we lose time in manufacturing, because scanning of some of the parts is not trivial.
If the scanning happens in the warehouse, we can not use kanban and we create work in the warehouse, which we wanted to relieve by introducing kanban in the first place.
Does anyone have experience with kanban/serial tracked parts and ran into a similar problem?
