Dear Friends,

What is the impact of changing the Revision date of an inventory part to < the created date ?

This particular part was created on 02-Apr-2023

The user manually changed the Revision date to 02-Feb-2023

Will this have any impact in the inventory process ?

Thanks in Advance

Hi @SMANUEL,

Back dating of the part revision doesn't have any major impact . But putting the future part revision dates may have impact on following processes.

  1. Receive the inventory part into the stock
  2. While adding components to product structure where phase in date of the component revision should be later than the phase in date of the product
  3. Running MRP, system will look for the valid revision while creating the new supply proposals for the demand
  4. While creating the purchase order or shop order , part should have a valid revision where phase in date is equal to or less than order creation date.

Hope this helps!!

We back date all of our parts to 1/1/2010 to ensure there are no parent/child relationship issues.  Doing some manually will have no effect.

We want to add new parts to old POs but we get an error due to the phase in date. Is there anyway to do this without backdating or creating a new PO?
