1) Classification

Localization – Japan / Legal and Regulatory Compliance

2) Brief Description

We request standard Japanese localization functionality to support compliance with the Act on Preventing Delay in Payment to Small and Medium-Sized Entrusted Business Operators in Relation to Manufacturing Consignment.

The requested functionality should:

Identify suppliers and transactions subject to the Act.
Prevent the release of zero-value purchase orders and control price reductions after order placement.
Ensure that the scheduled payment date falls within 60 days of the actual receipt date.
Context and Scope

Currently, these requirements must be addressed through custom fields, Quick Reports, BPA validations and manual controls.

This approach presents the following risks:

Missing or incorrect classification of applicable suppliers
Reliance on manual checks
Complex BPA logic connecting supplier attributes, receipt dates and payment terms
High regression-testing effort after IFS Cloud upgrades
Customer-specific audit-trail design

As these are common statutory requirements for companies operating in Japan, we request their implementation as standard Japanese localization functionality.

1) Who Is Affected?

IFS Cloud customers operating in Japan that conduct transactions subject to the Act, particularly:

Procurement and receiving departments
Accounts payable and finance departments
Legal, compliance and audit departments
2) Frequency

The functionality is required for every applicable procurement transaction, particularly when:

Creating or releasing a purchase order
Changing a purchase order price
Receiving goods or services
Calculating an invoice or payment due date
