We’re having an issue where the Shop Order and DOP-order time schedule won't align and I’m suspecting that the DOP-order is connect to the calendar defined in the project, rather than the Work Centers defined on each operation in the DOP-order. Could someone please confirm this and if it’s possible to manually connect a DOP-order to a different calendar than the one chosen in the project?

Hi @Branke,

The calendar you have defined on the project does not have any impact on the issue you are experiencing. The time misalignment is most likely a result of different calendars being defined on the work centers compared to the manufacturing calendar defined on the site. The DOP order was planned considering the site manufacturing calendar, while the shop order was planned by scheduling its operations based on the calendars assigned to the work centers of the operations.

In the 25R1 release, we have introduced support for scheduling the operations on a DOP order in the same way as operations are scheduled on a shop order, based on the calendars assigned to the work centers of the operations. To get this behavior, you should enable the new Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order Operations setting on the site. Once the setting is enabled, time misalignments will be prevented. Additionally, a component DOP order that is connected to an operation on the parent DOP order will be planned to to align with the schedule start of that operation, instead of the start of the parent DOP order, which is likely earlier than necessary.

Best regards,
Ellen

Hi @ellfse

I tested this behavior with Schedule and Create Load for DOP Order Operations enabled.

The screenshot shows that component DOP order 50046 – Wafermagazin is connected to operation 20 of parent DOP order 50045 – Belademodul.

Operation 20 of part 50045 is scheduled to start on 25 September at 13:00. Therefore, part 50046 must be completed and available by 13:00. However, the final operation of part 50046 is scheduled from 16:00 to 17:00 . The component is completed four hours after it is already required by the parent operation.

The Load Source is shown as Scheduled DOP for both operations. This confirms that the dates and times were generated by the DOP scheduler.

It tappears that the operation connection is only considered at date level and not at time level. The DOP scheduler aligns the component with the same calendar date but does not ensure that it is aligned with the scheduled start time of the connected parent op.

Could you please confirm whether this is an intended limitation or a defect? Based on your description, I would expect part 50046 to be completed no later than 25 September at 13:00.

Many Thanks,

Alex
