Does anyone know if distribution orders work for project demand from one site to another? We’ve been trying to set it up, but have not gotten any DOs created when there is inter site demand/supply within a project. Wondering if it’s setup that is missing or if it’s not part of functionality. Appreciate any guidance.

Distribution Order is only designed to handle standard inventory.
Material Transfer Requisition object in PMRP is just single site - coz PMRP is not multi-site.
I don’t think it is an easy task to implement multi-site Distribution Order for project inventory.

Please note that the following instances will create distribution orders automatically:
- Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
- Master Scheduling (MS)
- Order Proposal (INV)
- Next Level Demand (NLD)
- Dynamic Order Processing (DOP)
- Distribution Allocations
DOP creates distribution orders as a result of running the Capability Check. Distribution allocations create distribution orders when they are released. So, planning tool like PMRP is not listed here.

Ah thanks everyone. Yeah we’ve been trying to figure out the best way to move project inventory across sites and across projects (project 1 (in site 1) demands the supply of project 2 (which produces in site 2)). Unsure what is the simplest process here while still keeping connections to the project. Open to recommendations that make steps easy for the operations people.

If it’s sites within the same company, you can use shipment orders to transfer your project inventory from one site to the other without loosing the project connection.
