Creating request for quotation out of the project material demand

Hi,

When I select the quotation request option when creating the supply request from project material lines, it still ends up in a purchase requisition, which only give the possibility to create quotation out of that requisition. It does not automatically create a request for quotation from the project material demand line. It crates the requisition and then the user has to manually convert this to a request for order quotation. 

Is this the correct behavior? or do I miss any setups here ?

Hi Tharanga,

This is expected behavior in IFS Cloud, not a missing setup.

When you create a supply request from a project material demand line and choose the quotation option, the system always routes it through a Purchase Requisition first — it doesn't generate a Request for Order Quotation (RFQ) directly. The requisition line carries the project ID and activity sequence reference, but it still needs to be released (and authorized, if a rule applies) before it can be converted to an RFQ.

So the two-step flow (demand → requisition → manually convert to RFQ) is by design — there isn't a setup that makes the supply request generate the RFQ automatically in one step. This mirrors the same pattern for non-project purchase requisitions.
