Chane custom fields on customer order line when stage billing invoice has been issued

After a staged billing invoice has been issued on a customer order it is not possible anymore to change the content of persistent custom fields on CO lines.

In order to be able to issue the first stage of staged billing profile on a customer order the CO needs to be released.

After releasing the CO the content of the CO line cannot be changed anymore mainly the added persistent custom fields.

Yes, this is a problem throughout Cloud, persistent custom fields lose their ability to be updated if the rest of the standard fields on the object have become locked.  This was not the case in previous versions.  I haven’t seen a workaround, nor have I seen an estimate when this behavior might be changed.  

We have business processes built around changing custom field values after an object status change that can’t be replicated in Cloud.

@KoenGielen  Best option is to do a modification like mentioned here.

 

 

Where you override the validation method to not include CF_XXXX custom fields.

Ofcourse to be tested if that works in your case. But seems not to be a big effort to change.
