Hi,
If you use MRP to plan the item, then Planning Method ‘A’ is the best option.
The system will only plan the supply when there is an actual demand.
This is also known as ‘Lot for Lot’ planning.
I hope this helps.
Hei
Thank you for your answer Richard. However, plan A do not create an order proposal if the mechanic register a work task that he needs the part that we do not have in the stock. Or do I need to feel up more information in plan A so that IFS can create this order proposal? Do you know if plan N could be an alternative? I am looking for a pull principle method.
Really appreciate you time. Thank you so much.

Thanks for the reply.
So just to be clear about your requirements, the mechanic will register a work task that requires a part that you do not have in stock.
Can you please provide an example screen shot of how they do this?
Then, which planning calculation do you run to plan for the supply? Is it MRP?
Again, please confirm which calculation you are using together with a screen shot of any parameters.
Many thanks
Hei Richard,
The mechanic register under the work order the parts he needs. But as an example her under, we have this connector in Planning method B, we have 6 of it on hands today. As you can see I set Order point to 3, that means if the mechanics uses 4 of them and we have only 2, than IFS will create a order proposal for me to release and buy 4 ( that is my Lot size).
For the parts that I have 0 on hands and I only want to buy from a supply if the mechanic really needs , which Planning Method I should use that IFS makes a Order proposal for me for this part?
Many thanks
