We have recently started working more extensively with IFS Demand Planning and are currently building several reports based on planning data. We are running IFS Cloud 25R2.
One of the data elements we would like to access is the System Forecast generated by Demand Planning. Ideally, we are looking for a way to retrieve this data through both:
- REST API (for integration with external reporting applications)
- Database objects/views (for reporting directly within IFS)
While investigating the data model, I found the view SYSTEM_FORECAST and the table SYSTEM_FORECAST_RTB, but both appear to contain no data in our environment.
I also tried accessing the SystemForecastSet projection through the REST API, but this entity set is currently returning no records as well.
My questions are:
- Is there a supported way to access the System Forecast values generated by Demand Planning?
- Are there any prerequisites, jobs, or configuration settings required before data becomes available in the database objects or API projection?
- If the forecast is not exposed through these objects, what is the recommended approach for extracting System Forecast data for reporting purposes?
Any guidance or experience with this would be greatly appreciated.
