Hello,

by design the work order lifecyle is very open, allowing many transitions (forward, backward) to simplify and speed up the management of work orders.

However for companies which would like to go through a more consistent and streamlined process across multiple entities doing maintenance, is there any way to set up the allowed and forbiddent transitions (e.g. it could be mandatory to have a work order always going through “Observed” status?). No BDR seem to drive this capability.

Thanks!

The easiest way to handle this is probably by Custom Events.
If status = 'X' only statechange to 'Y' is allowed.

Thanks @PATNSE

we indeed did identify that a CRIM could cover the requirement, but were wondering if we were missing some standard setup capability enabling it.

Best regards
