Use of pictures in reporting

We use Tableau for IFS reporting and are looking to leverage the use of photos taken in the field to records and display damages to property.

We want to setup a repository to store these pictures and I see during configurations of IFS you can change the document file directory. Is it possible to point this file directory to a network resource? if so, can photos taken and uploaded from the mobile eform be saved in the same document file directory?

Anyone have experience setting this up?

We are using APPS9 UD14  with mobile work orders and eforms.

It is probably possible if the files end up in Docman and you use a repository of type Shared. Or, really you could use FTP as well, but you would have to make sure to share the FTP folder(s) also as shared network folders.

I hope you understand though that you would short-circuit the access rights in Docman if you do this.
