Hi All,

It is possible to incomplete or cancel an assignment sent to mobile from Backoffice. Additionally, is there anyway to changing the status to other way? Any tricks?

Use Case: Technician is working in offline area and started work. Due to the SLA requirement, the status of the work task should be changed to a status such as “On Route” or “Work Started”.  However, since the technician is offline, the status is not updated simultaneously. The Backoffice cannot update the status since it is downloaded to the mobile.

Does anyone have an idea on how to handle a situation like this?

TIA.

Hi @kasunhp,

You can cancel or mark as incomplete any work assignments that have already been downloaded to the mobile device by using the Transferred Tasks/Work Assignments screen. This can be done efficiently by filtering the list to locate the relevant task number.

Hi @Bhanuka Abeygoonawardana

My question is about can we do any other changes than Cancelling and Incomplete. Seems not possible.

No, it’s not possible - primarily due to the fact that the execution in mobile happens offline, and there’s a risk of conflicts and data getting lost. What’s the use case you’re trying to support, where you transfer work to mobile, but update statuses in the back end?

@anmise The use case is something like this.
The Work Task needs to be started at certain time to sustain with SLA timelines. Sometimes technicians are in places (basements, forests etc.) where they are having less mobile signals. Therefore, even though technicians start work, it is not visible in the cloud. In such cases, back office needs to update the status to adhere with SLA timelines.
However, the status mismatch will be an issue then. Let me know if you can introduce any solution here.

The actual time when they start work will be captured and stored on the device even when they are offline. When they regain connectivity, SLA will be Fulfilled with a backdated date and time
