In a certain situation a combination of projects with work orders will be used. Part of the solution is that there will be standard inventory replenished by standard MRP.

What will happen is that all work orders will be project connected, so when demand is registered on a work order material requisition, these lines will be connected to a project activity.

We will use Project MRP to automatically transfer standard inventory to project inventory, this all works fine. The issue is that the WO tasks will be assigned to workers with a default remote warehouse connected. When this is the case the automatic reservation of work order material lines will only consider inventory on the remote warehouse (as this is the default warehouse for the worker). The transferred inventory, which is available for the applicable project activity is not considered during reservation.

Only solution we see is that we do a manual reservation of the line and change to the central warehouse to reserve the stock. Nice thing is that a transport task can be created automatically now to bring the stock to the remote warehouse. But we would like to do this batch wise and not by manual reservation.

Our customer has many material lines that need to be picked for the work orders. It is not doable to manually reserve all these lines.

Ideal situation is that we select all work order material requisition lines for a certain due date and press ‘Reserve’. When stock is available for the appropriate project activity it can be reserved and when it is not in the before mentioned default remote warehouse a transport task should be created automatically to transfer it to the correct van. These transport tasks can be used by the warehouse worker to pick the material for all remote warehouses involved. And when the material is actually loaded into the vans, the transport task(s) will be executed.

Is there anyone who encountered this before and if so, how was it solved?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi @Koen,

Can you please confirm which IFS application this query relates to? Would this be Mobile Workorder or FSM or another area or application?

Kind regards,

Hello Lee,

This is IFS Applications 10 using IEE.
