Service Management - Price Rule

Hello,

In IFS Cloud 25R1 while creating a price rule within service management module, we are able to include the cost type for a certain type only once in the rule. For example: If a material cost type is included for a sales part and if we try to include a second material cost type for another sales part, the system throws an errors stating that ‘Price rule line already exists’. Customers have requirements to enter more than one entry for a specific cost type. Is this a bug or intended feature? Please let me know.

Hi,

How do you need to add these sales parts? Are they coming from sales parts registered for a specific material? Or do you need to add one sales part for a set of materials (parts)?

Hello,

These are either actual sales parts or labor associated to the part which is also created as a sales part. We would like to include the sales parts along with its labor (sales part) captured under Materials for example.

Hi, this is intended. The setup is that for the specific cost type that should be included in Fixed Price, and not invoiced per T&M, is billed thorugh one sales part for the fixed price.

Do you want to have two fixed prices through two different sales parts for the same cost type?

Thank you.

“Do you want to have two fixed prices through two different sales parts for the same cost type?” - Yes, that is correct.

Currently using work task templates, there is a way to include multiple fixed planning lines which is reflected in the Work Task when created based on the template. But we are unable to use Price Rules as a template to create fixed price which can be linked to a Service Catalog and Request within Service Management module. Is there a way to achieve this scenario?

No sorry that is not possible at the moment, but we are looking into this scenario for a future release to pre-define multiple sales parts on a Service - that could be used for a fixed price type handling.

Thank you @ajnsse for the response. Is there a planned release in which we can expect this functionality?

Users who are already using the Service module have this functionality through Work Task Templates > Planning lines where they are able to include multiple fixed lines. When switching to the Service Management module, there is a limitation in the Price Rule which is making it difficult to achieve their existing business functionality.

Cannot say an exact release for this one, but it will most likely be in a 26RX release.
