Hi All,

Can we have different cost for a specific resource other than mentioned cost in resource group? If a resource has certain skills, competencies or certificates, can we have a higher cost for that resource?

I saw “Used Cost” filed in Resource skills. That seems bit complex to handle.

TIA:

If you are talking about cost as $ or € then it’s indeed defined on the resource group, so your only option would be to reflect different cost levels using different resource groups.

“Used Cost” is not a monetary value, it’s used by PSO to steer the optimization and for example prefer the right-skilled resource over the over-skilled resource. It has no influence on the execution cost of a task.

Thanks @Alexander Heinze

If we need to allocate higher cost for skilled resources, then the option is to include them in a separate resource group, right? By the way, this will create numerous resource groups.

Since we have the option to add a cost into delivery unit level, we may allocate different delivery units to them as well. It seems not logical, but theoretically possible?

Looks possible to me, but I have never tried that. It would however add a lot of complexity. You may need to maintain access groups on SDU level. And would your selection rules pick a service org or an SDU? Again more complexity.

Taking a step back, what’s your ultimate goal?

The ultimate goal is the customer wants to have higher standard cost for resources who has certain skills and competencies. They are asking any other way other than crating separate resource groups?
