Is the Execution Time used for anything on PM Actions in Apps 10?  I understand the use of the duration which is at the work task level.  Since the introduction of duration on work tasks in Apps 10, what functionality does the execution time provide in IFS Applications 10?

Hi @ctaylor56, The “Execution Time” is a standalone, user defined field in the application which is used only to specify the number of hours that you expect the work to take. Thus, this will not be auto updated based on work lists/ task duration. You have to enter it manually. But when it comes to “Execution Time” on Work Order, if it is a PM-generated work order, the execution time gets copied from the PM action at generation.

So Execution Time can be useful in a scenario like this. If you have a PM having 3 work lists with duration 2, 5 & 3. If these 3 tasks can be done parallelly, then it will take only 5 hours to do the work, not 10 hours which is the sum of task durations. So, to show that info, you can use the execution time field. Other than that, value entered on this field will not be considered for any other standard functionality in application.

Hi,

As a complement to the answer given by Dilini.

Execution Time will only follow into the WO from a PM Action during generation when you have a 1:1 relationship, i.e. when you generate one single PM Action into a WO.

When using the functionality of grouping or merging several PM Actions into same WO, no execution time will everbe set on the generated WO.
