Is there a separate permission set for IFS NotifyMe (IFS Cloud 25R2 SU3)? When trying to connect i’m getting an error ODATA_PROVIDER_ERROR.

Hi

Have you read the technical documentaion around Notify Me, There it says what you need.

Search for Notify Me and you will find it.

Not sure what you have for a path in your documentation, but the latter part in technical documentation is this /030_administration/040_native_apps/090_mobile_apps/35_notify_me/

Part of the documentaion

Permissions
To run IFS Notify Me security groups must be granted to an end user Permission Set via Security Grants to access the notifications as detailed in Notification Types. In addition to the notification specific security groups the following security groups also need to be granted to the End Users Permission Set for IFS Notify Me:

  • DocumentManagement
  • MediaLibraryManagement
  • MobileObjectConnectionConfigManagement
  • NotifyMe
  • ReplaceMediaLibraryItem

The User must also have access to the functional role permission set MOBILE_APP_RUNTIME to be able to logon to IFS Notify Me.

Regards

Johan

Hi Johan,

I have followed the steps / setup in the technical documentation. I managed to resolve the problem by clearing the Mapping Cache (User Profile → Caches → Clear Mapping Cache) and refresh the Server Cache (MobileApplication). Now i am able to login and can see notifications.

MOBILE_APP_RUNTIME is also granted to the end user.

One thing i still think i am missing is a out of the box permission set. for e.g. We have WADACO_MOBILE_USER, TRIP_TRACKER_USER and bunch of MM_% permission sets for mobile maintenance. They all align with the Mobile Apps we have (under the configuration). However i dont have a specific one for NOTIFY_ME_USER.. Should there be one ?

Just for now i have granted, what you have listed to TRIP_TRACKER_USER and granted that to end users for testing. I can create a separate one… but just wondering if  i am missing something in our installation.

Thanks again for your help.

Kind regards

/Roshan

Hi

Very good that you were able to set it up.

We have never created a specific permission set for NOTIFY_ME_USER.

In fact there are two levels of that permission, one that could be created with the basic permission to run the app, but then you have the specific permissions, which is more around the notification types. Notify Me is a bit of a shell and you can have notification from several different areas of IFS Cloud, like Supply Chain,  Financials and HCM and the user using them needs the “normal” IFS cloud grants for those areas, which they get from the “normal” IFS Cloud permissions.
