@PIINKADAM sorry to hear your experience was not that great! I’m from R&D, so I don’t have the input you asked for, but I do have some questions since we may be able to figure out some improvements:
- On the sync issues, can you explain more on the type of missing transactions you mentioned? Are these transactions done on Mobile but not reflected in back office? I take it you’ve looked at Failed Transactions?
- Can you share any symptoms and screenshots from your sync failures?
- Is it the mobile apps that are slow or the backoffice functionality? if the apps, can you share the device platforms, models and specs that you run on? Do you run a mix of Android/iOS/Windows and if so, do you see this on all platforms?
Thanks,
Rukmal
Hi @Rukmal Fernando
#1. Yes these are survey answered that are entered on the mobile but do not reflect in the back office. The issue is random and cannot be replicated at will. We do not see any failed transaction or IFS has been unable to see any errors in the logs.
#2. We have details of the issue and screenshots in the IFS case Case Detail (ifsworld.com)
#3. Windows app is where the performance is the slowest. Surveys that take 1-2 seconds to load in iOS take 50+ seconds to load in Windows App.
@PIINKADAM thank you for the clarifications, see my thoughts below.
- If this does happen again, can you get the device logs as well as the TAS traces and MWS logs and share it with us so that we can try and understand what’s going on here?
- I looked quickly through the document and the logs, but I’m afraid I don’t see anything to add to Robert’s conclusions on G2386616. Again, if you find a way to recreate this, please raise a Support Ticket so that we can investigate further.
- We did some improvements to Surveys in particular recently. @JOOLSE, @Bandula can you elaborate on what releases include these improvements please?
Thanks,
Rukmal
Hi
I think we have got the case mentioned in this thread reported to us and I also talked to a collegue and he will put a comment on the case as he said he found at when it goes slower on windows, which can give us a clue to better work on the reported issue.
Bandula needs to explain the changes we did for IFS Cloud 23R2, as thos changes was mainly done from MWO side and not from the FW side.
Generally speaking, windows is usually a bit slower than iOS or Anroid, due to the fact that you on windows, especially are also running a lot of other things that will compete for memory and resources. This does not however explain why it is much slower than iOS or Android.

Johan
Thanks @JOOLSE and @Rukmal Fernando. Our biggest challenge and concern right now is the missing survey answers. Unfortunately, there is no way to recreate it, but it happens multiple times a day on our Production environment. Currently what R&D is investigating is the option to provide additional logging since current logs do not provide enough information.
@PIINKADAM do you have a Support Case or are you otherwise engaged with someone in R&D for the additional logging? If so, please share details via a PM and we can ensure that gets released soon, if not already released. @Bandula can you share a bit more on the recent Survey related improvements please?
Thanks!
Rukmal
@Rukmal Fernando it is currently under the same case G2386616
