What are the differences between the MWO Maintenance and MWO Service applications? And why would you use one vs. the other? Thank you.

MWO Maintenance is primarily focused on asset intensive/maintenance customers who are located at a single site where as MWO Service is primarily focused on customers servicing product and/or assets at the customers locations spread across multiple sites.

Cheers

James

Just to add, if you plan to use Next-Generation Service Management (i.e., Request Management) you would always be using MWO Service.

Thank you for your reply. Are there different features they offer? They look pretty similar.

There are indeed differences, for example:

MWO Maintenance works with Work Orders only, MWO Service also with Requests. The main question is whether you focus on asset (-->MWO Maintenance) or customer service (-->MWO Service). Differences include...

Only supported in MWO Service:

  • Some scheduling-related features (e.g., Update expected arrival time)
  • Service quotations
  • Find Part

Only supported in MWO Maintenance:

  • Tool Usage Tracking

Thank you! This is very helpful information.
