I have a 1 month, 3 month and a yearly pm with replacements set, I canceled the generated work orders from the 1 month which removed the work order reference from the maintenance planning line but what happened was the work order reference in the 3 month and yearly show canceled but did not delete and now I can’t regenerate the work orders. Any ideas on how to fix this.

What would be your preferred result of the action of cancelling the PM? Would you want the others to remain in place or for them to cascade delete or some other result?
You can setup the behaviour in the metadata for the relevant areas depending on what you wish to occur so I would start by reviewing your current metadata setup to see if this is how you would like it.
