How to create Project connection to a New Work Order in MWO App.

Hi all, We are trying to create a New Work Order using the ‘New Work’ function in MWO, select the third option.

Then the WO will be created from the MWO Application.

At IEE, upon creating a WO, we can RMB the header > Project Connection > Connect to Activity and enter the project connectivity.

However, there is no option to connect the WO to a Project currently, from the MWO Application.

We would like to know if there is any functionality in MWO App to create Project Connection for a new WO created from the App side.?(Connecting the WO created from MWO at IEE is not a feasible solution since we are running time reporting and material handling flows using MWO App and related cost lines are created for the WO. There after we can’t connect the WO to a Project receiving below error message.)

No, it’s not possible to do from mobile. Can you work out which project it should be connected to based on the data entered in the creation process? If you can, you could automate the Project Connection on the server upon sync.

HI @anmise Thanks for your prompt advice. 🙂 Yes I think we could work out a solution to separate to which project it should be connected during the entry creation. 

Would you kindly advise if the Mobile User has created Time Reports and Material related transactions on the Newly created WO from the MWO App side (Cost lines) wouldn’t that it be triggering an error as below even when trying to connect a project (already Started) through the automation process? Thanks.

If you connect it as soon as it’s created, you should be ok in most cases, but you’ll have to give it a go and see. I would try to add an event on work order creation.

Hi @anmise Thats a great suggestion. 🙂 Sure we could try with defining a new Work Type and consider triggering the event for Work Order creation or try a code for the same as per your kind advice. Thank you very much for your kind support.
