+4I am new to IFS and I am trying to understand the process of attaching a specific approval template to an attachment area that will trigger the approval process when a document is first attached or an existing attached document is edited.

I think there are several questions in that sentence there… :) Do you know that you can connect/select a certain approval template to a specific document class? When doing that, every new document from that class will have the template added automatically.
With that in mind, could you perhaps rephrase your question, or elaborate in a bit more detail?
