Email not picked up when using Entra to log in to MWO

We are using Entra as SSO to IFS MWO. When a user presses the button ‘log-in using Entra’, the UPN/email is not automatically populated. This causes the login experience to be very cumbersome. All devices that use MWO are enrolled in Intune.

Is there anyone that have encountered and/or solved this issue?

@christianroth this is unfortunately a limitation at the moment.

To give a bit more context, IFS MWO and the other IFS Cloud mobile apps host an internal web view where the login page is rendered. Since this runs in its own process, it has no access to any existing Entra sessions in order to populate your e-mail address or transparently log you in.

Best regards,

Rukmal

@Rukmal Fernando Is there any plans to address this design flaw?

@TIVMAGFRI it is a design decision in order to provide the most secure channel for authentication by ensuring that the mobile authentication flow neither leaks sensitive information, nor can be tainted by an external browser that we cannot control, so it is not a flaw.

That said, we understand that SSO authentication is a desired capability and is something on our roadmap, but there is no firm timeline on it yet.

Thank you for the reply @Rukmal Fernando. Do you have any advice for how we could make the experience better for the time being? As of now, the experience means that a user would need to sign in several times per day, and needing to enter the email & password every time.

@christianroth we don’t have specific recommendations at the moment, but I am hopeful that the Community might have some suggestions for you.

Best regards,

Rukmal
