Hi,

In FSM6,

is it possible with the standard to display all tasks for a team (the team(s) of the technician) ?

if no, what is the easiest customization that we could do for :

  • to display all tasks not dispatched for a team ?
  • to allow a technician to auto-assign task ?
  • option : to see all tasks not dispatched in a map (on mobility) : is it possible ?

Thanks and Regards

Hi @athobie,

When you say mobility is this referring to the FSM Mobile application? If so, it is possible to set the sync rules to send tasks assigned to a team rather than just an individual. In this case it would be a case of ‘first come, first served’ with the technician that first sets the task to in progress being assigned to the task and the task then being removed from the other team members devices.

You cannot allow a mobile user to choose a different team member and assign them to the task. This sort of assignment is reserved as a back office process on either the Smart or Web clients.

Kind regards,

@Lee Pinchbeck
Thanks Lee for your answer.
You are right, I’m referring to the FSM mobile application.
I understood that we can have sync rule to manage tasks for a team in a list.
In FSM Mobile application, could we have a map with all unassigned tasks and allowing a technician to take it if he’s close to the task ?

Thanks

Hi @athobie,

I believe you are looking at a request for new functionality there. All of the information would be present on the device as the task will have a location and, as long as the device is allowing FSM Mobile access, FSM Mobile would know the users current location but there is no display screen for tasks such as you are proposing.

Currently you would need to enter each task and then bring up each location in the map or to recognise the closer task from its address.

The reason for this is that FSM was designed with this sort of assignment viewed as being a back office task with the mobile device only having the tasks for that technician presented as the dispatchers want them to be.

With the move more and more towards the use of PSO or other optimisation to control what tasks go to which technicians and removing the manual assignment entirely there is less and less demand for the sort of manual technician choice that you describe.

Kind regards,
