Export License - User issue

Hi All, I have a customer where 1 user is able to connect an Export license and the other is not. The license remains in status ‘Unconnected’ for the other user; When that user asks help from the other user they are immediatley able to get the connected export license in status ‘Approved’. i have been looking into the cause of the issue bu having trouble to identify the issue. All Permission sets seem to be ok. What else could cause this behaviour? Best RegardsRoel

Difference Object Type - Type Designations

Hi All, I’m looking for more information with regards to the use of Object Type and Type Designations on the Serial Object. What are they used for and how exactly do they influence each other and what are some use cases for them. Situation: I entered a Type designation 0001 that I connected to Object type 600. Both of them were linked to Technical class 005. Question 1: So when you go to the Serial Object, you can select a ‘Type Designation’ and the ‘Object Type’ will be completed with the object linked to the Type Designation - so far so good.But when both fields are empty and you select an Object Type, the Type Designation does not get auto-filled. Is there any reason for this? Why does Type designation autocomplete the Object Type but not vice-versa? Question 2: it seems to be possible to add different technical classes to the Type Designation and the Object Type, while they are interconnected themselves (changed Technical Class for Type Designation to TC2 instead of TC5) . Export Config Id's parameters

Hi All, Our customer has multiple parts with various configurations. As part of a way to communicate with 3rd parties they would like to be able to export all Configurations ID’s and their related characteristics and values. But it seems we are running into some issues finding out where that information is stored inside IFS Cloud. Does anyone have any tips where we should look for that info? Best RegardsRoel

CO Customer Warranty on Serial Object structure

Hi ALl, I created a part with a DOP Structure that is 3 levels (top part - 2 sub parts - 1 of those subparts consist out of 2 other components). All of these are serialized parts.I sold the part on a CO line and used ‘Create SM object’, ‘Superior SM object ID’ to create the Serial Object structure, and I used Customer warranty on the top part. After Delivery the Equipment structure is created, all 5 Part serials were Serial objects and received ‘Location’, ‘Belongs to Object Id’, ‘Party’, etc... What I noticed is that the Customer Warranty is also copied to the 2 sub parts, but not to the 2 components on the lowest levels. Why is that? Why is the warranty only copied 1 level down, and not 2 levels down? These are also subcomponents that would benefit from the same warranty deal, right? Best RegardsRoel

RMA - Error Message

Dear All, I am trying to receive an RMA but I get this error message:The mobile application on the IFS10 was recently installed. The error does not occur on all RMA’s (I’ve identified 2 RMA’s as a problem - they use the same part number). I have tested with other RMA’s and they work fine.The part in question is a serialized part. best RegardsRoel

Serial Object - Group ID or Object Type

Hi All, What is the difference between Group ID and Object Type on the Serial Object? Group ID allows us to group Serial Objects for classification - but Object Type seems to be doing the same thing and has additional technical advantages.So what is the added value of the Group ID? Additional question: can these filled be auto-completed on creation of the Serial Object based on their part? It seems foolish having to manually define these every time we create a Serial Object. Is there any standard IFs functionality or are we directly looking at a CRIM? Best RegardsRoel

"Service Contract SLA" Vs "Support Agreement/Support Key"

Hi All, How does the Service Contract SLA and the Support Agreement/Support Key work in relation to each other? Suppose I have a Customer A that has a Support Agreement + a Support key that specifies certain response times as explained in IFS help: Additionally the same customer A also has a Service Contract with me where i will define a SLA for different Work Types with Primary and Secondary Criteria and an SLA Template. This will also define certain response times in accordance with the explanation on IFS help. So I have some questions on this:How do these 2 systems interact? Can they get in conflict with each other? When do I use a Service Contract SLA and when do I use a support agreement? or do I use both simultaneously? What are the pro and con’s of each option? Serial Object - Operational Status

Hi All,How do I change the operational status of my Serial Object? Situation: I have a demomachine which was already created as a Serial Object “RTI221202-002-000002”.The demomachine was sold to a customer “RTI-DIST-CUST-2” and placed under Superior SM Object Id “RTI-DIST-CUST-2-GROUP1”. Because of that sales the “Current Position” of the object is set to ‘Issued’. As a direct result the Operational Status is set to ‘Out of Operation’. But how can I change this? (Should I be able to change this??). (For Serial Objects with Current Position = “In Facility’ I am able to change the Operational Status.) According to below table the Current Position = ‘Issued’, and the Operational Status is always = “Out of Operation”.But I would like to be able to toggle this to know if a machine is still running @the customer… How does this work? best RegardsRoel P.S. additional question: how does the ‘Operational Status’ on the Serial Object link to the Operational Status in the WOrk Order and PM Basic D

Configurable Part - Rental

Hi All, Our customer would like to use a Rental process for certain machines. But his machines are ‘Configurable Sales Parts’. I tried to set-up a Confirable Sales part with Sales type ‘Sales and Rental’ but this seems to be blocked by IFS. This seems rather strange that we can’t have a rental for configurable machines. Upload e-mail from outlook into IFS - Edge/Chrome

Hi All, In order to upload an e-mail from outlook into IFS I have installed the IFS extension in my outlook aplication, set-up the correct URL and installed IFS Aurena agent. But am I correct that the IFS Aurena Agent only works as an extension on the Google Chrome Browser? (So your default browser must be set to Chrome). I’ve got it to work with chrome but when I set the default browser to Microsoft Edge it still gives me an error: Is there also a possibility to use Edge to do this or is chrome the only option here? Intercompany Repairs of non-serialized parts

Dear All, I was wondering what the standard/best approach is to execute intercompany Repairs of non-serialized items. The situation: Sales Company A is in direct contact with customer X Customer X has a problem with a non-serialized part and wants to sent it back to check if it can be repaired Repairs are not done in Sales Company A, but in Repair Company B - which is physically a different location than Sales Company A The invoicing of the repair costs needs to be done by Sales Company A to customer X Repair Company B can invoice an intercompany repair service to Sales Company A (at a lower rate than what the Sales Company A invoices the customer X) What proces/combination of processes can we use here? The part is non-serialized, so wherever we can we need to use ‘Customer Owned’ so we can make a difference between regular stock and Customer Owned stock.We are working on IFS Cloud.Best RegardsRoel

Warranty from Customer Order to existing Serial Object

Hi All, Situation:I have an existing Serial Object in Inventory I have a customer order to sell the Serial Object with a Customer Warranty line (warranty came from a Customer Warranty Template The Serial Object is DeliveredQuestion:Should the warranty from the Customer Order Line not be connected to the Customer Warranty of the Serial Object?This does not happen at this point. So the Serial Object is sold with Customer Warranty on the CO line, but this does not appear on the Serial Object Customer Warranty.From the IFs help I get this:So does that mean the Customer Warranty is only copied from CO Line to Serial Object when the Object is created at Delivery? That does not make too much sense to me. The Serial Object could have been created before (demo machines for example), and sold later on but still have a warranty. Anyone have any feedback on this? Case Contact Notes - multiple contacts in To/CC - How To?

Hi All, Working in IFS cloud, I have opened a case and I want to Send a ‘Contact Note’ to multiple people.I click ‘Contact Note’ and a pop-up opens with a ‘To:’ field and a ‘CC:’ field. Each field contains a drop down listing all the contacts associated with the case. SO far so good. Now I want to have 2 people in the To: and 2 people in CC: but I can’t get this to work. The drop down only allows me to select 1 person. Using a semicolon after the first name doesn’t do the trick. Keeping down control or shift also doesn’t allow me to select multiple people from the drop down. What is the trick to add multiple people in ‘TO:’ or ‘CC:’?? Bonus question: how is ‘Contact Note’ different from ‘Send E-mail’? Both open a pop-up with a To: and a CC: window; so when do you use one or the other? What is the logic here? Customer Owned - INT PURCH DIR

Hi All, I was trying to do an INT PURCH DIR to deliver a part that is customer owned but located in a sister company directly to my own customer.So my site is Site 1, But the -customer owned part lies in stock on site 2. I now want to sent a Customer order to my customer selling the customer owned part using INT PURCh DIRECT from site 2. But apparenlty the combination ‘Customer Owned’ and ‘INT PURCH DIR’ is not allowed. Is this expected behaviour? Why is it not allowed? Should it be allowed? Is there a workaround for this? Mobile Work Order versus Cloud application

Dear All, I’ve noticed that the standard IFS Cloud has a lobby called ‘Service Technician’ that seems to be using similar functionality as the Mobile Work Order application. When you click on ongoing Work Orders you get the possibilities to start travel, start work, complete work and do a report in. But I am still missing some things like: issueing parts, a service report BEFORE customer signature (so my customer can read what I’ve done - similar to the MWO). Is this functionality present in the IFS Cloud application, if yes, where can I found it? Or is it still under development or how is this moving forward? Best RegardsRoel Timmermans

Refill Remote Warehouse - Transport Task/Shipment Order

Dear All, I am in a situation where I want to automatically be informed when remote warehouses need to be refilled.To do so I have define my Remote Warehouse as a putaway zone, I have created a Remote warehouse parts assortments with refill order point and refill to qty with Refill source = inventory. The remote warehouse planning is ok. On site level I have set Transport Task automatic consolidation by multiple parts. So when I now run the ‘Refill all putaway zones’ it auto creates my transport task to move the goods from my main warehouse to the remote warehouse. So far so good. But now: actually I do not want to use a Transport Task but rather a Shipment Order. As indictaed on the “About Shipment Order” help page. Transport Tasks are good to move stullwithin the 4 walls of your building. Now I have a remote warehouse (the definition of remote being= not within the 4 walls of my building :-)), so I would like to use the shipment flow that is available in the Shipment Order process to

Service Quotation - enter contacts

Hi All, This sounds like a very basic thing, but either I am having a really bad day or something else is going wrong.According to flow 4.16.3.1 - Manage Service Quotation we should be able to enter contact after the Servir Quotation has been created and in status ‘Under preparation”. Unfortunately, I’ve been looking for a place to enter contacts on my Service Quotation and either I am missing something or I am not seeing all possible tabs here but I can’t seem to find the proper section to add a customer to my Service Quotation. Unit based sales price list vs Customer Agreement - deal per part

Hi All, I have a situation where we want to use ‘Unit based Sales pricelists’. We have a huge number of sales parts, all belonging to the same family and having same price strategy in function of volume. However, it might be that a customer negotiates a specific price for an inidivual sales part belonging to that product family. So I was thinking about ‘Customer Agreement’ - ‘Deal per part’, because this special price would only be applicable to that one customer. Alle other customers would still use the regular ‘Unit based’ pricelists for that part and the related product family. Howver, in order to use ‘Customer Agreement’ - ‘Deal per part’ I need to use ‘Sales Part Base Prices’, but it seems you can’t select parts belonging to a ‘Unit Based’ Sales price Group. Is that correct? Is there a way to combine these 2? Or do we need to change the part from a ‘Unit based’ sales price group to a ‘Part Based’ Sales price group and add this to a new sales price lists so the normal customer use

Business Reporter - How To?

Hello All, Can somebody provide a good document/tutorial/work instructions on how to create a Business Report? I don’t seem to find any good manuals that describe the possibilities and ways that we can use business reporter. For example: - If I use a Repeater on a row, can I use this repeater and define this immediatley as a dynamic XLS table? - Can I make a Pivot table of this? - How can I create a bar chart that takes into account the dynamic range of the repeater? - How to add an additional ‘calculated’ column to the table? Remote Warehouse UoM error

Hi All, I am trying to add a sales part to my Remote Warehouse Assortment but I get an error message: The sales part in question has been defined with an Inventory UoM = Pcs, but with a Sales Part uoM = ‘SET/1’ (Sales UoM is on customer request, for some reason they didn’t want to use ‘pcs’). Creation of Sales Part was without any issue. But now we also want to add this part to the remote warehouse assortment for auto-refill and it seems there is something still not OK with the conversions. Does anybody have an idea about this? Pricing using Customer Hierarchy

Dear All, Can somebody provide more information on Pricing using Customer Hierarchy?I have a customer A that is connected to Customer B in a Hierarchy (A is below B). Customer A has no pricelist/customer price group attached. Customer B is attached to a Customer price Group. When making a Sales Quotation for Customer B, the system takes the right Pricelist as Pricesource.But when I try to make a SQ for Customer A, the pricesource is directly to the Sales Part. But according to my understanding, because A belongs to B in the Hierarchy, it should be possible to use the price lists attached to customer B. Is there another setting we have to set? Superior SM Object ID and Create SM Object

Dear All, On the CO lines weh ave the columns ‘Superior SM Object ID and ‘Create SM Object’. It was my understanding that we checked ‘Create SM Object’ when we wanted a Part Serial to be converted into a Serial Object at delivery, and that the ‘Superior SM Object ID’ was used to put that Serial Object in the structure so that it was visible in the Equipment Object Navigator. But I noticed recently that it does not exactly work as I imagined because when I create a CO line for an already existing Serial Object (delivered to customer from stock) - I didn’t use ‘Create SM Object’ because I thought I didn’t need this when the Serial Object already existed. But it turns out the object is not placed in the Equipment structure. Is this corect behaviour? AM I missing something here? Can anybody tell me more about the those 2 columns because I feel I don’t have a full idea on their behaviour. Best RegardsRoel

Customer Schedule - How To?

Hi All, I’m trying to familiarize myself with Customer Schedule in order to fulfill a demand from a customer. But I’m getting a bit lost in the complexity of theset-up and basic data.
