Can you define a quantity of As-needed or As-required in a Product Structure

We’re working with a client for whom certain Product Structures which contain a specified components specify a quantity of “As Needed” for it. This appears to be due to the fact that they always know they’re going to need this component but the quantity cannot be determined until the Manufacturing Process has actually started. Once this has happened the Manufacturing staff simply go and take what they need for the order that is in progress. However in other Product Structures this same component can appear with both a specified quantity and Unit Of Measure so there is no consistencyThis particular component has no unit of measure defined for it (we can manage this using the * No Unit defined) UoM when creating the Part Master and when including it in a Product Structure it is added as 1*, but how can we manage this component both from a UoM (as it needs to have an * UoM in some cases and an oz UoM in others) and also an MRP perspective.

Not able to upload the document in APP

Hello, While trying to upload the document either in PC or mobile app, the screen gets stuck while syncing and the uploading of document is not happening. When i remove the document and sync again it gets synced with cloud but when I attach the document, it gets stuck in the screen which i attached and the sync doesn’t happen. Part Serial Rename when Serial Object Exists

I’ve seen other questions or discussions but have not yet found a solution. I’m upgrading from APP9 to Cloud and plan to use part serial rename functionality after the upgrade. This is a great option for recording transactions and history of a part number and/or serial number change. However, if that part serial exists as a serial object the rename functionality cannot be used. The error says: The serial exists in Service management and cannot be renamed. Post upgrade we don’t intend to use serial object; but since we’ve been using IFS for 20 years we have thousands of serial objects already. Therefore if we need to service one of these serial objects again and it has a modification which changes the part number, we have no way to use the rename functionality. Is there a way around this issue or shortfall in IFS? Is there some cleanup that could be performed on serial objects prior to upgrading? Is there an alternative way to rename a part serial that I am not aware of?

Consider PO Max Authorized Amount in Change Order Authorization

There is a purchase order authorization rule with two steps Step 01- Authorizer A with a limit of 500Step 02- Authorizer B with a limit of 1000Expected resultsWhen a purchase order is created for a amount of 300 only Step 01 will be valid for the original authorization.- Works fineNo authorization within the order amount in change order - - Works fineA change order will be created and the amount will be changed to 700 , Here I need both the steps A and B to be included for authorization of the change order.- Does not work as expected. When I use the below set up on company level , it does not pick any authorization for the change order when the amount is changed to 700.If I do not use this tick it will just pick the step 01 considering the delta amounts.Can anyone explain how to use this set up properly to achieve the expected results? ObjectiveUplift a custom menu with PLSQL logic to IFS CloudIdeaUse a PLSQL event action and execute the event using a custom command. Only configurations needed for this solution no customizations. StepsConfigure the projection adding an action to EVENT_SYS.EVENT_EXECUTE method. Make sure to grant the projection to the end user even though the use has access to the page already for standard pages. Create a new custom event and custom event action. Here table can be any table but make sure to untick objects are crated, edited or removed. This event will only be fired calling the EVENT_SYS.EVENT_EXECUTE by calling the Projection bound action. Cloud File Storage Migration Tool Support on Remote Deployment

Dear @Mathias Dahl,I’m reaching out to you directly, as I believe you are the most knowledgeable person to answer this. We have a customer running on IFS 10 UPD10 on Microsoft Azure Cloud (in their own subscription, not in IFS Managed Cloud). They are using the IFS Docman functionality extensively, with a large number of documents saved on an FTP server.They are planning to upgrade to IFS Cloud (possibly 24R2 or later), and there’s a chance the installation will take place in Oracle Cloud. As we know, IFS no longer supports FTP as a repository, but IFS Cloud currently supports "File Storage" using an SMB (Server Message Block) share to store files.My questions are: Can we use the Cloud File Storage Migration Tool to migrate files from IFS 10 (from the FTP server) to IFS Cloud (SMB share)? Note: I read about the limited support for this tool. However, I would like to know your opinion on whether we can rely on this tool, or if there is a better alternative. EXT_FILE_TRANS_TAB growing and cannot be cleaned

the EXT_FILE_TRANS_TAB is taking more and more space in the the database and we do not have a clue about how to clean or purge it, it looks that there is still in the table row related to load file ID that are no more available in EXT_FILE_LOAD.Does anyone already meet the same issue and/or knwo how to clean the EXT_FILE_TRANS_TABthank you in advance for any help, comment or remarks

order report : schedule option fails for any SQL quick report

Hi,We’re using Cloud 23R2 and have a problem using the schedule option under Order Report for any SQL report. It works fine from the Quick Reports page, just not from Order Report.Nothing happens if the Schedule Report option is selected. Not able to install FSM6 smart client after upgrade

Hi I have upgraded FSM625 V to FSM630 after upgrade i could not able to install smart client application i am getting below error during installation i did not see any error during upgrade and web client and mobile applications are working fine. Issue with multiple Print Agents system

Dear IFS Technical Experts,I am having difficulty setting up a 2 print agent configuration properly.We have 2 sites and each site has it's own print server. On both servers we have print agents with different logical printer - physical printer mapping. However, they both listen on the same REST port, which causes problems: the faster agent grabs the job and if it wasn't addressed to its printers, it reports an error. We are on APPS10 and our system is hosted in the cloud so I do not have access to the middleware. Is there any routing configured there regarding the agents? Or how could I assign different ports to the different agents? If we change the port only on the agent side, printing will not work.Thanks in advance, Roland

Business Reporter - The website’s security certificate is not secure.

Hi all, I try to log-on to Business Reporter, but I face strange error, which I have never met before: When I click “Refresh the page.” I get this error: I have installed this website’s certificate and this environmental works in browser correctly. I have also prepared IAM Client as it should: I have done this several times before for different environmental, and I have faced an errors when IAM Client or certificate is not defined correctly, but now I have done and defined them for this environmental at least twice.Certificate are stored on “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” -folder. I also stored them to different locations too, but did not make any difference. This environmental is working on 24R1 SU1.

Validation in Workflow Invoked by Event

I've encountered a problem and need some help understanding the workflow architecture, specifically when a workflow is invoked by an event. I'm focusing on synchronous workflow invocation only. Diagram from documentation Problem: I've noticed a difference in behavior between using Error_SYS.Record_General() in an Execute Online SQL event action and IFS Failure in a workflow event action (in my experiment, both are exclusively called by the same event). It seems Error_SYS stops the process, while IFS Failure in the workflow doesn't stop the process, and I can see more activities (Server Trace) in the DevTool log. Additionally, some data are changed despite the validation error message appearing.This issue is connected to the functionality: Report Picking of Pick List Lines -> Report Picking of one line with serial number. Hey All,We do a good job having our software as items in our CMDB. We also have our printers and computers in as assyst CMDB also. On the hardware printer items in CMDB were store the print queues for printers in config characteristics. The problem is you cannot search for the serial no in the characteristic. We are going to be moving our printer queues as separate items with relations to the hardware. That’s easy. We want to also relate the print queue to the software it is used by.Question. What do people do when relating it to the software?The two scenarios we came up with were:relating all print queues directly to the Software item. creating another item called “<Software Name> Print Service”, adding relation for this item to the software, and relating all print queues to the “<Software Name> Print Services” item.Technically the majority of these software are running a service for printing but its creating new items to track “services” or “sub programs” to the main soft
