Different order type fetched on CO

In the Customer screen under “Sales → Sales” you can select a default order type for that customer.

I want to change it now to a different order type. After changing it, it still fetches the old one when I open a new customer order.

Is this a bug? Or is there a field that overrules the order type from the customer screen?

Is there a default Order Type against the Site that’s over-riding; or a Site or Customer Supply Chain Matrix in place?

Hi Linda

in the Site setup the order type field is blank:

We do have a Supply Chain Matrix for Customer setup, but in there you can’t define any order types. Also the Supply Chain Matrix only affects the Customer Order Lines as far as I am aware, so that is only active when we start entering lines.

Or are you talking about a different view? I might not have all the permissions to check these sites, but if you can name them for me, I can check internally.

Thanks a lot.

Is there a Customer Hierarchy (we don’t use this so I’m not up to speed on it) in place or a Customer Agreement?  Is there some Custom Event set up?  Is it the same for other users creating orders for the same customer?  Are you creating a new CO and not ‘duplicating’ or ‘creating from template’?

Hi Linda

well I got one step closer. I tried a different customer and there it works when I change it in the Customer setup.

The one that does not work is in a hierarchy. I tried changing the order type of the main customer number of the hierarchy, in hope that it’ll overrule - but it doesn’t.

The customer that works has no hierarchy.

Agreement is in place, but also there I don’t see any options to put an order type.

I am creating the CO newly, not duplicating or copying.

@PRODQ I found the issue on our side. We had a Message default setup in the site for this customer. I thought this is only valid for EDI but seems like this is in general for all types of CO’s for that customer nr. Found the solution here:
