Rent out of Non-Inventory sales part, how to start rental?

Forum|alt.badge.img+12

I want to rent out a non-inventory sales part.  The order is released and I’ve moved it to a Reserved status using quick order flow.  When I go to add an event, start event in my case, the lower section is blank.  Is there something special that must be done when renting a non-inventory sales part?

Hi @PIreland , I believe you need to process the CO till ‘delivered’ status and then start the event for ‘start rental’. This would show the line in ‘Start rental’ then.

Thank you @Sayuri Perera,  Shouldn’t we be able to start rental when the item is ‘reserved’?  Maybe it’s different for non-inventory sales parts.  I’ll follow up and test accordingly.

Hi @Sayuri Perera

Yep, you are correct.  It must be a nuance with non-inventory sales parts in that they must be delivered before the rental can be started.  That doesn’t seem to be the case from an Inventory Sales Part rental item.  Is that you’re experience?

Hi @PIreland , Yes, the start rental can be done for inventory sales part rentals once the CO is reserved.

Thanks,

Sayuri.
