When using the ‘Move Part’ functionality can you enforce the ‘Part Availability Control’ to move with the Part? You can select the slider but I want to enforce it for all movements.

It happens automatically when moving a Handling unit but not for individual parts.

@Fgray09 I don’t believe there is any out of the box setting that allows for this.

If you were using Warehouse Data Collection, you could define a default.

Curious what the use case is here assuming a generic version of it can be shared.

Often times, I see folks wanting to inherit the Availability Control of the location they are moving to vs moving from.

The customer wants to allow movement of parts through various areas in the warehouse, maintaining visibility of specific Quality statuses and restrict use in assembly and or production.

I’m having the same issue. I wish that once an AC ID is set it would not change until QA change it. At least if i could a way to enforce to keep as ‘’from location’’ , it would help.

By default an inventory part in stock record inherits the availability control assigned to the two location. The screen should ask you if you want to change it if it is already set but this relies on a user to answer the question correctly.

I have enforced maintaining the availability control using a custom event that prevents the changing of the availability control until some other condition is true. In other words you would need a record of something in the database to know if it is ok to change. The right transaction screen and correct user role. A field that says disposition is complete. Or really anything that creates a definitive artifact or record of the QA process being complete.
