Hi All,

We have created a new repository as a file storage type to create a separate file location for docman files.

Then we have created documents and could be able to add new documents to different screens without any issues. However, when we try to view or download the attach document it pops up an error after scanning for the document for so many minutes.

What would be the issue here? Is this a bug ?

Thank you!

Hi Nipun,

This is not bug. As designed, the system checks for virus database updates with each file download, initiating a new scan if updates are found. This ensures that all files are scanned against the most recent virus definitions, providing optimal security.

This feature can be turned off or set it to scan when uploading only via system definitions window to Enable file scan to detect malware parameter. Please read more (file scan settings)

here

Regards,

Sahan

While it's true that it's not a bug that files are scanned, and to get that message sometimes, it's a problem if the download never succeeds. Then the problem should be reported to the platform support team (it's not an issue with Docman primarily).

Thank you so much @Sahan Udana and @Mathias Dahl

Issue resolved by changing the System Parameter ‘File Scan Settings’

It's one way to resolve it, yes. But now you don't have any malware scanning in place. Is that what you want?

… or did you set it to scan only on uploads? 🤔 I didn't know we had that option...

Only on uploads. not when viewing or downloading.

This what we have done. Do you know what will happen when uploading documents? we haven’t got any messages related to scanning when uploading documents.

In scan logs you should see the status of uploaded files into FSS :
