CRM Access Filter and Groups

We have a requirement to grant users access to all Business Opportunities but each user should have different access levels. I’m using the CRM Access Filters in Apps 10 to set these users as Admin Users and specify their desired privileges.

One user has only Read privilege however, is able to insert and update opportunities. They only get an error about not having Insert or Update privilege when they are connected to an access group. However, the access group is not connected to any filter at all.

Am I missing a setup here or misunderstanding the new access functionality?

Hi @gkharkwal

CRM Access only takes effect if the user is connected to an access group.  If not, CRM Access doesn’t affect that user.

Also, if you set them as Admin users, then they can do anything.  So don’t make them admin users and then try to restrict their access using CRM Access.

Thanks @paul harland !

If the users are connected to an access group, will they still be able to view all opportunities even if they are not representatives on the opportunity?

That depends how the access group is defined.  It can be configured such that the representatives can view all opportunities even if they are not representatives on that opportunity, yes.
