Astea.mobile.services.dll flagged by antivirus

Forum|alt.badge.img+2

Yesterday our F-secure antivirus flagged the file astea.mobile.service.dll as Malicious.
Location: C:\Program Files\Alliance Mobile Edge\AsteaMobileEdgeServices\astea.mobile.services.dll
The file wasn’t changed since 29/6/22.
when i uploaded the file to: virustotal 2 other antivirus flagged it as harmful.

Did anyone else experience this issue?

I agree with Reid and also ran a malware check online for this file from the date you reported (15.4.4.0 was the version I believe).  It did not report any problems checking against a variety of different scanners.

I checked the file with VirusTotal and see the two positives you received:

Interestingly, both scan systems I used also referred to Avira with one reporting a positive (VirusTotal) and one not (MetaScan).

I consider the Heuristic scanning is not always very accurate.

Hi Anthony,

Which version of Alliance Mobile Edge?  I know you had 15.4.2.0 in production (if I recall correctly) but also received 15.4.6.0 & 15.4.8.0 recently so I would like to check this out.

Hi Anthony,
We had a customer using McAfee report that after the latest antivirus patch was applied the mobile WebConfigUpdate.exe file was flagged (they had to add it to the exclusion list) but I haven’t heard any reports about that particular .dll getting blocked.
Thanks,
Reid
