I have watched the Business Planning self paced learning on IFS academy and when trying to test a setup of my own I am encountering an error when creating a new Planning Unit.

Please see attached the error message and system setup.

Please can someone help resolve the error?

Thanks  - any help much appreciated.

Hi,

You do not need the values after code part T. Please remove the values U till Z.

The next step is to go to “Company” window and select command Update Company.

Then you want to select the following settings:

And after, you want to only specify the LU for code string by deselecting all and only selecting the Accounting Code Parts LU:

Hope this fixes the issue!

This error occurs because the Additional Code Parts which are used in Business Planning do not exist for the company.

I suggest the following:

  1. Look at Company Templates in the database - there will be some which have the additional code parts.
  1. Update your company for this Component and Logical Unit only.

Only after you have updated the company to have the additional code parts will it be possible to use business planning.

Hi IRituma,

Thanks so much for your reply.

I couldn’t find a template with those Code parts, so I opened the STD template and have added them :

Please can you confirm what the next step would be to update the existing company to include these - I have not done that before.

Thanks
