I would like to know the (correct) step by step process of using an approval template to approve a project forecast and set it as Active Budget. Can someone please describe this process with some screenshots of the pages in IFS Cloud please?
This is the sample DOA for reference.
Value range (AUD)

Many thanks,

Hi Ashani,
If your requirement is to link the project role into the approval, you will need a CRIM for that. In the IFS standard there is no link between the project role and the approval on the project forecast approval. The project roles are only used for purchase approval.
In the normal IFS process you need to create a approval template under the document management module.
Then in the project forecast you connect the correct template by using the “Copy Approval Template”.
You will need to have some workflow/BPA to manage this process, it can be very simple to ignore this by a user.
I have seen a post of IFS10 where they have specify a CRIM that connects the project roles into the approval for the forecast. I think that post will meet your requirement to connect the project role into the approval of the project forecast.
Kind Regards,
Dennis
Thanks @EqeDenniD for your reply. So what I’m understanding from this is that there is no way to achieve this functionality without a CRIM ? Because asking the users to manually attach the approval template to the forecast will not be an acceptable solution.

Ashani
The described way of working is only feasible with a CRIM item indeed.
Please raise an Idea on the community for it, then we can Upvote this and get it on the roadmap.
Based on what I described you need to do it manually. When you create the forecast there is a possibility to copy the Approval Flow based on the previous forecast. Of course, when you create the first forecast it needs to be selected manually.
This is easily overlooked when creating the new forecast.
If there is a scenario that due to changes during execution of the project an additional approval is needed, then this needs to be selected manually.
In general by using the standard IFS functionality for approval of the forecast it is not related to the project roles and project value for selecting the correct approval steps/template.
A CRIM will be needed to automate this process. If you raise this as an Idee on the community you have my upvote. I believe this is a very strong enhancement on the project module.
