Hello all,

We are using Project Deliverables integrated with Project MRP (PMRP) for planning manufactured and purchased parts.

The deliverable structure contains multiple levels of manufactured and purchased components.

Example:

  • Final manufactured part (top-level deliverable item)
    • Intermediate manufactured part 1
      • Purchased component 1
    • Intermediate manufactured part 2
      • Purchased component 2

Scenario

  1. The Project Deliverable is initially scheduled.
  2. PMRP is executed.
  3. PMRP creates supply proposals:
    • Shop Order Requests
    • Purchase Requisition Requests
  4. The customer approves the planning.
  5. Supply proposals are converted into:
    • Shop Orders (SOs)
    • Purchase Orders (POs)

At a later stage, the customer requests a change to the project schedule.

Issue Observed

  1. The project activity date is modified.
  2. The activity is linked to the entire Project Deliverable structure.
  3. We run Calculate Schedule on the Project Deliverable.
  4. The required date of the top-level part is updated correctly.
  5. We run PMRP again.

However, the PMRP run only takes the top-level item into consideration.

Since the lower-level demands have already been converted into Shop Orders and Purchase Orders, the dates of the associated supply orders are not automatically replanned throughout the complete structure.

To replan all related Shop Orders and Purchase Orders, PMRP must be executed multiple times to generate the actions alowing to reschedule with proposed date. It is done effectively once for each level of the structure, until all levels are updated.

Question

Is there a standard way in IFS Cloud to execute PMRP so that, after a Project Deliverable schedule change, all associated Shop Orders and Purchase Orders across the complete deliverable structure are replanned in a single run?

Or is the expected system behavior to perform multiple PMRP runs to propagate the new dates through each level of the supply structure?

Thanks in advance,
