Hi,

For projects can we have the following please?

  • Control on who can be staffed
  • Limitation on days a person can book - set an upper limit for days
  • A financial year that the days have to booked in. e.g. by end 2021

e.g Staff Bob for 20 days to Project code x in 2021?

Thank you for your consideration.

No that is not possible, you could make use of a query seeing if the reported hours exceed the allocated hours. That code could also be used in an event upon approval of the hours.

But nothing in standard IFS as far as I know.

From my experience of working on Projects within IFS

  • Control on who can be staffed
    • Would turning Project Access on meet this requirement? With access on only the Project Manager and those in the access team would be able to see the project.
    • We have created a crim where when a employee is resourced on an activity they are added to the access team.
  • Limitation on days a person can book - set an upper limit for days
    • Not aware that this can be done, manage as budget stops overspending on procurement but not time.
    • I think this would need to be managed when approving for cost accounting
  • A financial year that the days have to booked in. e.g. by end 2021
    • Seeing as resources book time/expenses to an activity you could set the activity start/finish date to be that of the financial year. You would then only be able to book time/expenses to that activity in the period that the activity is valid for. It doesn’t stop you over or under booking hours but would control when hours can be booked.
