Hi All,

In the IFS project module, we can create miscellaneous demands and set the planning method to MRP. Is there a standard way in IFS to hide these demands from planning?

In the customer order process, there is a “Release for Material Planning” option. We can turn it off if a specific line should not be included in planning.

I noticed there is an MRP Horizon setting where demands can be excluded based on date. However, I am looking for a way to control this at the individual line level within a project.

Thanks,

Chamath

Hi @Chamath Kuruppuarachchi,

A small question, if you don’t want these lines to be planned by MRP then why are you setting the Planning Method as “MRP” ?

Hi @Tharindu Illangasinghe , hope you are well.

Well in our scenario we are talking about 300+ items that we are planning from the beginng of the business opportunity as well.

At the minute my customer is planning in the excel and maintain that excel throughout the period. Just thinking wehther we have any flexibility in the project side like we have in customer order.

Thanks,
Chamath

I’m doing ok Chamath, hope you too 😊

AFAIK there is not setting at the line level, unless you change the Planning Method.

However, you can disable a part from taking in to MRP planning, by the setting below. But do note that this setting will be applicable at the Inv Part level, regardless of the project.

Also, another option I could think of is setting the “Required Qty” of these lines to “0”. Then again, it is something you have to do manually (same like editing Planning Method). The MRP in this case will still take the Inv Part for the calculations but will not plan any supplies as there is a “0” demand.
