There is no specific prerequisite to create a company in Apps 10.

However, one important point to note is that you can create a company using a company template or using an existing company. There are system-defined company templates that you can use. However, if you need to create a company using an existing company, you need to ensure that a company has been previously defined.

There are some.

• Country code might need to be activated in the ISO codes. 
• Currency codes might need to be activated in the ISO codes
• Units of measures may need to be created if a company template from another environment is used
• Additional languages might need to be installed/activated first
