Can a single Purchase Requisition be allocated to multiple projects or project activities?

Hello IFS Community,

I’m wondering whether a single Purchase Requisition (PR) can be distributed across multiple projects and/or project activities.

Scenario: We need to purchase a common item (e.g., steel plates, pipes, cables, consumables, etc.) that will be used by several projects. From a procurement perspective, we prefer to create a single PR and purchase order to leverage volume and easy traceability, but we need the cost and commitments to be reflected against multiple projects.

Questions:

  1. Can one PR line be allocated to multiple projects or project activities?
  2. Is there a standard functionality to distribute the cost and commitment among several projects (e.g., by percentage, quantity, or value)?
  3. Would the Project Cost Commitment be created correctly for each project?
  4. What is considered the best practice in IFS Cloud?
    • One PR with cost distribution?
    • Multiple PR lines, each assigned to a different project/activity?
    • Another approach?

We are using IFS Cloud and would appreciate feedback from anyone who has implemented project-based procurement with shared materials across multiple projects. Thanks
