When working on a project, is it possible to reserve materials from standard inventory and completely bypass using project inventory?
My objective is to use a project-connected shop order and source the sub-components directly from the standard inventory.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Ron,
this is for sure possible.
It depends a bit on the flows you are using, just a SO raised from Misc Demand, or if you are using Project deliverables for example. In all cases it is possible.
I guess you are using a SO raised via Misc demand, in that case the “Std Planned Item” setting in the product structure defines the use of Project stock or Standard Planned stock.
In the example below the bench would be from normal stock, it is input for MRP, and you can reserve and issue normal stock. The other 3 are not standard planned, thus they are expected to come from Project stock, and are input for PMRP.
