Community,

Our company inventory revision no is defaulted to starting from 1. Wondering where does it be defined in the system? Thank you.

Hi @ronhu

As per my understanding This is the number of each revision to the selected part. When new revisions are created, the number is automatically updated with the next consecutive revision number if the part has had a previously registered revision.

And if you add another revision it will pick as “2”. I tested it.

@Chanu_Yazi Thank you for your reply.

Maybe I didn’t make it clearly in the question. my question is, the default inventory part revision is always start from 1, where this default no ‘1’ defined in the system?

I hope I have made myself clear.

Thank you.

Hi @ronhu

Please see the below screenshot.

@ronhu a software engineer should be able to determine if this attribute has a starting value hard-coded somewhere in the system, like shop order numbers and change order numbers do. I’m guessing it doesn’t, but even if it does since it is a ‘counter’ I cannot think of why anybody would want it to start with a value other than ‘1’.

@Chanu_Yazi Thank you for your reply. I am make it the Best Answer.

@matt.watters Thank you for your reply. We have Eng Rev start with 0 and Inventory Rev start with 1, we would like to make it consistent. We just imagine Inv Rev would have the same logic as Eng Rev does, which could be pre-defined. Per our conversation above, we would go with Eng Rev.

Thank you all.
