Hi,

We would like to ‘pre-pick’ materials: for certain shop orders, all materials needed should be moved from Location A to location B. The actual picking happens after that: We pick from location B and the material goes to WIP (=issued)

How can this be done? Can we easily create for example transport tasks to move all materials for a shop order/shop orders from location A to location B?

Thanks!

To move reserved shop order materials you can use Move with Transport Task option in Inventory Part Stock Reservations page. You can select multiple lines and a single transport task will be created as a result.

For the option to be enabled, you have to set Moved Reserved Stock option to Allowed in Site/Inventory tab.

Thanks! Indeed looks promising!

Can we default the ‘move to’ location? Can we set there the inbound location of the shop order for which the material is reserved for?

No. Move to Location has to be given manually.

@CHJYLK I am wondering , is it possible do do only partially transfers with transport task but than still be able to pick with a pick list from an certain shopfloor location?

The problem is, when we transfer materials from location warehouse to a shopfloor location, and do this with transport task and an reservation from the shop order, than the Picklist created will reference to the original Location where the transport task is sourced from. But what is needed is, the picklist is only to source from a certion inventory Location.

Since the first step to create the Picklsit is doing the reservations, they are also necessary for the transport task, both dont seem to work together.

How could this be solved? We need to transport material demand for production into a certain location and than pick it from there. But it can be that case that this material is not fully transfered, only partially...
