Dear all,

Is there a way in IFS Cloud to assign shop order operations and allocate labour hours to individual employees, rather than assigning them to a labour class?

If so, could you advise on the functionality or configuration required to support this?

Thank you and kind regards,

Samiru

Hi SRH,

In your screenshot, the Assign dialog shown is for a Shop Order operation. When you assign an individual there, you are allocating that person to the entire workload defined for that specific operation.

In this example, the operation already includes 8 hours of setup time plus (2 × Shop Order lot size) hours of run time. Based on the defined crew size, this workload is associated with each assigned individual.

However, it is important to note that the system does not consider labor capacity during Shop Order scheduling with Shop Order Infinite Scheduler in IFS. The Shop Order Infinite Scheduler schedules operations based only on machine time and does not take labor hours into account when generating the schedule.

If your requirement is to allocate or balance work hours across individual employees, you would need to use a finite scheduling solution, such as APB (Advanced Planning Board) or MSO (Manufacturing Scheduling Optimization). These tools allow you to manually adjust and optimize schedules, including dragging and dropping shop order operations between different resources or labor-class members to achieve the desired workload distribution.

Thanks!

Lakshan

Hi @Lakshan Thiranagama

Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

I’m just wondering whether there is a way in which we can somehow manually populate the "shop order hours" column in the Resource Analysis screen for individual employees (not labour class) upon assigning the operation.

I can only see the shop order hours for the labour class, not for individual employees.

Kind regards,

Samiru

Hi Samiru,

This is not possible in Shop order core solution. You might have to implement a configuration or modification for that. Because this Resource Analysis page is related to generic resource area of the solution set. As far as I know the Manufacturing labor allocations are not aligned with those tables so far.

But if you are using finite scheduling solution like APB you can see these hours in ‘Operations per CBS Resource’ overview. Similarly with MSO it is ‘Finite Resource Assignments’.

Thanks!
