Do we have any method to change the default scheduling direction of shop orders from backward scheduling to forward scheduling?

Hi @Ushan Senarath,

You can try below steps to schedule shop orders with ‘Forward Scheduling’.

  1. Create a new shop order and select ‘Forward Scheduling’ as the Sched Direction.
  2. RMB on the header and select ‘Edit >> Save As Template’.
  3. Give a ‘Title’ and enter relevant ‘Notes’ (If required). Click ‘OK’
  4. Refresh ‘Shop Order’ window again.
  5. RMB on header and select ‘Edit >> New From Template >> Set Default Template’ and select the above saved template. Click ‘OK’.
  6. Now if you add a new shop order it should be created as Forward Scheduled

I hope this explanation has answered your concern.

Not via a setting in IFS. But should be possible to create a Customer Event to trigger Forward Scheduling automatically atShop Order creation.

Hi Ushan,

It's not possible to add a default Sched Direction for a site as some functionalities such as capability check uses that logic by default. You have to change it for individual orders. The same applies for Cloud as well.

Alternatively, it should be possible to create a Customer Event to trigger Forward Scheduling automatically at Shop Order creation.

If you are manually creating Shop Orders, you could create a Template and save it as the default.  Using a default Template, you can select the Shop Orders to be created with Forward Scheduling.

Also, if you create a new order it will take the direction as ‘backward’. But once you change the direction to forward and if you duplicate that order, then it will take ‘forward’ as the scheduling direction for the new order.

You could create a template to select from or a saved template to be used but this would only work if you are manually creating SO’s.  If you are creating SO’s from a SO Req, this would not work and a customization and/or event could be used.
