Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is a standard solution in IFS Cloud for the following scenario?

We are working with a Make-to-Order shop order where, for example, 11 main products are produced on one shop order. When the shop order is received, these 11 products are physically packed onto 10 pallets.

Each pallet contains a part of the total quantity of the 11 main products. The requirement is that the receipt should result in 10 handling units, representing the 10 physical pallets. These handling units then need to be reserved to the customer order.

Has anyone handled a similar process in IFS Cloud?

The main questions are:

  • Can the produced quantity be split across multiple handling units during shop order receipt?
  • Is it possible to reserve these handling units directly to the related customer order that contains 11 main products?
  • Is there a recommended standard process for this, or would this require a customization/workaround?

Any advice, experience, or suggested setup would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Yes sure this is possible!

  1. Define the capacity for the main product and handling unit type (define how many you can pack in each pallet)
  2. Create a packing instruction containing the pallet
  3. Link the packing instruction to the product structure alternate
  4. Create a shop order using this structure alternate'
    1. The packing instruction is automatically inherited
  5. Receive the shop order, the Pack step is now enabled by default in the receive assistant
  6. In the receive step, verify and if required adjust the quantity and possible serials/lots that goes into each handling unit.
