Hi!

Our users have noticed that in their previous version it was fine to receive from a shop order into an inbound location of type Production Line. It looks like it was still the case in the Apps 10 version we have access to, so it seems to have been introduced with the IFS Cloud version. Nowadays only Floor Stock and Picking locations are possible, wich will cause them pretty big changes in routines, since organizing the shop floor into production lines has been a key factor in controlling the reservation of material from the right locations. What motivates this change?

Hi Kenneth,

Seems there was some inconsistency here already in Apps 10. You can select a production line location when manually receiving the shop order, but you cannot select it from the LoV in Proposed Location on the shop order, or in Approve Operation from Shop Floor Workbench.

In IFS Cloud it seems that production line locations are excluded also from the LoV for manual receiving.

Adding to the inconsistency is that if you connect a production line location as an outbound location to the production line, this will appear as a default receive location in both Apps 10 and IFS Cloud. So you get a default location which you cannot manually select from the LoV.

I cannot see any reason why production line locations would not be included in the LoV’s given they will be defaulted when using an outbound location on the production line for the part.

Create a support ticket for further investigation.

Thanks for the quick reply Björn!

A moment of service :-)

We will proceed with a support ticket.

Thanks @Kenneth Pettersson CGI

You can also mention in the ticket that production line locations are available in the Proposed Location LoV on the Shop Order Requisition page.
