Project Gantt Dependencies - "Schedule" overwrites start dates

Have any other users of the system been able to find a work around with Gantt dependencies when using the scheduler? Our PMs are getting frustrated because they spend time linking dependencies together and then the only way the schedule button on the Gantt view aligns and considers those dates is to just push everything back to the earliest start date of the entire project. It’s not workable for them, just wondering if any other customers have a smart work around.

Hi Andy,

When it comes to Planning & Scheduling, the best workaround/option available for you is to use an external planning tool like Microsoft Project. However, for that you need to have the knowledge in MS Project as well as you need to install MS project which I am not sure is feasible to you or not.

The other option is not to use the Gantt to create dependencies but manually creating the dependencies using the Activity ‘Planning’ tab (From Project navigator or Activity window). If there are number of dependencies, then this might take a lot of manual work.

However, if you could explain your issue a bit more, I could look for another answer.
