Hi,

IFS Cloud version 25R2

The inventory part has been set for Planning Method “G” and the Order Cover time is “10”.

Demands for the part are coming from two separate projects

A single PNG created for both the projects (part transfer within PNG has been disabled)

Execute the PMRP for the PNG

Background job has been completed

Now, in the results the PMRP has created a supply that is only satisfying the demand of one project.

The problem why the demand from the other project was not considered in the supply planning.

Hi @Tharindu Illangasinghe,

I replicated your test plan, and I think system generated results are logically correct.

let me try to write down my understanding.

  1. Main objective for Planning Method G is to club the Demands for a given period and create a single Supply.
  2. There are two sources of Demand (say Project 1 and Project 2), and both are clubbed by a PNG.
  3. Since there will be a singly supply only for both demands (only single Activity Seq can be connect with Purchase Requisition line) upon execution of Perform Project MRP per Planned Netting Group.

Here is the problem, Demand Supply equation will not be balanced if system generates single Supply of 5 pcs for an Activity Seq having demand of 2 pcs only, since we have not allowed Part Transfer within PNG.

Inventory Part Availability Planning screen does not have PNG related information, and then again will not be an easy task analyse supply demand information.

As per my understanding, it is not possible use Planning Method G with a PNG where Part Transfer not allowed withing PNG.

I performed PMRP per PNG after allowing the Part Transfer withing PNG, and below are the results which is logical.

The system creating single PR for whole demand as per Planning Method G, and MTR simultaneously to distribute the supply as per their demand source.

Hi @Abdul,

Thank you for looking in to this.

Yes, I also observed the same results during my testing. The problem is that it is quite unrealistic to purchase for one project and request to share the excess qtys with another project, just because of the limitation with an Act Seq. It goes without saying the unnecessary amount of transactions recorded against one project, time taken to process these MTRs, user oversight and extra burden, etc.

I would say, it is fair to create a one PR header and under that two PR lines, one for each Act Seq. So theoretically we can consider the PR header as the single supply created to satisfy the condition of planning method “G”, and at the same time the two PR lines to fulfill the demands from two projects.

Hi,

It is a bit narrow flow. I feel you should raise it as a support ticket so R&D team can look into it.

Thanks!
