We create our supply orders through Project Demands and have a manufactured part, including several sub-assemblies, that is used across different activities within the same project.
Inventory Part data for one of the sub-assemblies is configured as follows:
- Variable Lead Time (Days): 36
- Fixed Lead Time (Hours): 0
- Manufacturing Lead Time: 36
- Expected Lead Time: 5
We have a customer order line with a Wanted Delivery Date of 26/03/2027, and PMRP/MRP is executed overnight.
Recently, the resulting Shop Order Requisition was created with what appears to be no manufacturing lead time being considered:
Shop Order Requisition
- Proposed Start Date: 16/03/2027
- Due Date: 17/03/2027
Based on the lead time settings above, we would have expected the planning process to schedule the start date earlier and take the 36-day manufacturing lead time into account.
What makes this particularly unusual is that we processed a similar demand for another activity within the same project, which was released earlier, and the Shop Order Requisition dates were calculated correctly. No changes have been made to the relevant part master data, lead time settings, or planning parameters since then.
Has anyone experienced similar behaviour or can suggest what factors might cause PMRP/MRP to ignore the Manufacturing Lead Time when creating Shop Order Requisitions?
Any insights or troubleshooting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
