Community,

We have multiple parts (in-house built manufacturing parts) which are using work order disassembled from their parent parts, due to its wrong process, we would like to restore them back onto their original parent part. Would that be possible for work order?

Thank you.

Is the disassembly of components done through work order returns?

If it is not necessary to tracked the parts in as-built structure of the parent, I think it’s possible to just issue the parts back as work order materials.

If you are open to use of multi-level repair shop orders, both disassembly and re-assembly with updates to as-built structure is possible.

@CHJYLK thank you for you input.

yes, in-house built product is disassembled via work order, and the components being disassembled, cannot use onto other shop orders, when receiving the shop order, system always prompted the error.

in this case, the disassembly from work order will not change the As-Built structure, hence the issue.

but if the in-house built product is sold to customer, then the as-built structure is transferred to “Customer Owned”, then I think the repair work order could disassemble components and can be used on other shop orders,as it is not “Company Owned” anymore.

Thank you.
